So to what I've planned almost a week ago about my trip with friends and yes, we ended up going to Pangasinan last Tuesday (March 20). The reason behind the trip to Pangasinan was that, I saw some posts that the Sunflower Maze will be opened on March 12,2018. I actually read blogs about what should I expect, do and how to get there because that place was not familiar for me since it's my first time to go there by just commuting. But they already provided some directions on how to get there and also for more details on the event kindly check their Facebook page which is Municipality of Tayug.
And last Tuesday (March 20) after our shift, we directly headed to Pangasinan to witnessed the overflowing sunshine bloom of the sunflowers. But first, I will tell you what and how we get there.
We traveled to Five Star Cubao Bus Terminal and there we rode a bus with "Tayug" signage on it. Actually, we asked the driver of the bus if they will passed by Sta. Maria Pangasinan crossing in which the landmark when you get there was 7-eleven and the driver said yes they will.
So we bought some snacks that we can eat during our trip before we headed to the bus that we will ride because it will be 4-5 hours travel from Cubao to Pangasinan.
And at 7:30AM we are already on NLEX Balintawak headed to Pangasinan. Of course, we slept just a little (it's hard to sleep on bus if the place you'll go was not familiar to you, right?) and in a blink of an eye, time passed by so fast. Finally we arrived at Sta. Maria Pangasinan crossing at exactly 11:10AM. From there we ride a tricycle going to Sunflower Maze. It was burning hot that day since it's noon time when we get there.
The first thing we do was to go to comfort room to retouch and so on and so forth. :D It's lunch time already so we decided to eat first before we roam around the maze. There are many stalls there where you can choose what and where to eat. After having our lunch and take some rest, we decided to give it a try to roam around even if it's too hot (for the sake of photos hahaha).
Here are some of my captured scenery and mini-pictorial at the Sunflower Maze:
Friendships!!!! |
After the blood, sweat and tears (just kidding! it's just sweat) we decided to take a rest and drink some coconut shake and after that clean up because we should get back to bus terminal before 4PM (as to what the tricycle driver said it was the last trip of the bus going to Cubao)
We ride a tricycle again, I'm at the back so I "chika" with the driver and I'm so thankful for him, he said that he will accompanied us to the bus terminal. Here is what actually he said: " Ihahatid ko na kayo sa terminal, mahirap mawala dito sa Pangasinan lalo na't hindi pa kayo taga rito, diba?" Those kind words make my heart melt. And he also asks the people in the terminal where is the bus going to Cubao. He is so kind, he done that before he completely left us at the terminal.
Travel expense together with time table breakdown to our trip to Sunflower Maze, Pangasinan:
Bus fare (Cubao to Sta. Maria Pangasinan) 7:30AM : ₱ 309.00/person
Tricycle going to Sunflower Maze 11:10AM: ₱ 150.00 (₱ 50.00/each since we are 3)
Entrance fee to the Maze: ₱ 100.00
Food (Chowking Chao fan) 11:40AM: ₱ 95.00 (we don't buy drink since we already have bottled water)
Coconut shake: ₱ 25.00/per bottle
Pasalubong (Sunflower seeds): ₱ 50.00/bottle (I only bought just 2 haha :D)
Tricycle going to Five Star Bus Terminal 2:00PM: ₱ 170.00 (for the 3 of us)
Bus fare (Pangasinan to Cubao) 2:45PM: ₱ 323.00/person
Do the math guys! If I will add it, it will be much more 'cause some of the amount was for the 3 of us. The bus left the terminal at around 3:00PM. And at around 8:30PM we are already at SM North Edsa, we arrived so late because of the stop over and traffics we encountered during our travel that day.
It was fun and also tiring day since it was a long travel and we didn't have any sleep at all plus it was too hot in the field.
But thanks to my beautiful friends who are there together with me that day.
Until our next trip friends!
PS: The sunflower maze were not fully bloom the day we went there (in my own opinion it was expectations vs. reality, it really depends on how you take the picture to make it look more livelier) and also it was so hot, please be reminded to bring umbrella, cap or any other materials that can protect you from the sun. Drink a lot of water and just enjoy!
Thanks for dropping by!
