Let's Start the Year Right | Personal Finance

January 04, 2022

This is just a continuation of my previous blog regarding prepaid cards since I will be talking about more on my newly opened savings account or more likely about personal finance.

You can check my blog here: How To Survive Buying In Online Shop Without Having Credit Card?

ACHIEVEMENT UNLOCKED

NCT Dream's song 'Hello Future' really inspired me to make a move and start planing for my personal finance this year, 2022.

In the past few weeks, I've been watching and reading stuff about finance. Like personal finance, how to save your money and also something about investments. Wow! Take note this is not me during my early 20s but right now it really made me think why I haven't started saving up for my future and also why I always buy things like crazy.  What a big spender of money am I.

2022 - the year to make things right. Let's do it self! I personally opened (take note opening it online - no hassle) additional 3 digital banks which I will be mentioning on the latter part of my blog. I read a lot of reviews about this 3 digital banks and the interest rate was no joke compared to my existing savings account in BDO and BPI. Oh! And before I forgot I also opened an account with PagIBIG MP2 Savings and will start to deposit this month (January 2022).

Why? or what is the reason behind this thing?

I was inspired by Nicole Alba on Youtube like, she was just young when she started about personal finance but here I am so near in my 30s (not really - just advance thinking hahaha), doesn't have enough savings for myself. Thank you also for tips and also for sample finance tracker because of that I even created my own finance tracker and I felt so happy and I really think that it can help me in the long run.

Since I am big spender when it comes to KPOP albums/merch (yes! and somehow I regret buying some of that right now), it really made me think if this can really help me on my future or not. So this year, I will be limiting myself when it comes to buying albums and merch. I mean, I am not stopping it all at once but I'll make it lesser, for example one album in every two months and I think it's not bad since in the past I used to buy all versions like 3 albums or more in a month hahahaha OMG!
Just a disclaimer, I am currently employed and all of my expenses with albums/merch comes from my income whenever I have extra.

"No matter what age you are, if you are alive, it's never too late to start something new, accomplish your goals and amaze the world." (credits-letsbemerry.com)

So let's get into the topic. Money, money, let's make more money.

WHAT IS DIGITAL BANKING?

"Digital banking is the digitization of every level, from front- to back-end, of banking. This means that digital banks rely on artificial intelligence to automate back-end operations such as administrative tasks and data preocessing - which in turen alleviates pressure put on employees to complete day-to-day tasks."

Earning money doesn't mean you need to focus on just one area, just like your full time job. You should also consider other aspects for you to grow your money. For example, by doing side hustles, building a business and also by doing investments.
As for me, I do have a business but it's more likely a side hustle. We are selling KPOP albums/merch which we bought directly from South Korea and it is 100% authentic/legit. You can check our social medias for more information:

But I will be talking more about investment since I am so curious on having more than one as long as I can provide a great capital and I need to be ready because we'll never know what can be the risk on having an investment.

What is investment?

Investment or investing means that an asset is bought, or that money is put into a bank to get a future interest from it. Investment is a total amount of money spent by a shareholder in buying shares of a company. (Source: Wikipedia)

Let's now talk about Pag-IBIG MP2 (Modified Pag-IBIG 2) savings on why you should start investing your money here. Since I am also new to this, I will just put some links that can help you to decide whether you will also open an account with them or not.

What is Pag-IBIG MP2 Savings?

The MP2 Savings is a special savings facility with a 5-year maturity, designed for Pag-IBIG Fund members who wish to save more and earn even higher dividends, in addition to their Pag-IBIG Regular Savings, The program is also open to pensioners and retirees who were former Pag-IBIG Fund members.
- For more detailed information, kindly visit this site: Pag-IBIG MP2 Savings

To open an account with MP2, click this: Modified Pag-IBIG 2 Enrollment
Where to pay your Pag-IBIG funds? Payment Facilities
For more questions regarding MP2 Savings, kindly visit this site: MP2 Savings FAQs

All of the links provided will help you from how to open an account to how you can earn dividends and also where to pay your funds.

I am also planning to invest on GInvest which  you can find on your GCash app and also in SeedIn but since I'm still researching more about those two, I will just update you guys on this blog once I started investing to them.

Investment is really a risk so we should know more about the things revolve around it and to where we should  invest our money. And be prepared also for the outcomes of your investment/s.

To be updated..

I hope this blog can help you also to start doing personal finance for this year 2022 and for more years.

Life with Books

May 21, 2020

This wasn't supposed to be a blog but I would like to share the books that I've currently reading and also done reading.
Seriously speaking I'm not really a fan of reading books but later on, as time goes by I love to collect books.

I always read them when I have free time or whenever I'm done watching k-drama or any Korean shows (sorry, nothing or no one can stop me from watching this! HAHAHA!)

Back in the days when I'm still studying, we cannot afford to buy the books that I really  want. The first book that catch my attention was the book that Demi Lovato (since I'm an avid fan of her) released  few years back and I won't be able to bought it since we are not financially capable. This was the best part (being active on social medias), I would like to thank  Seoul Government on Twitter for the $15 amazon gift card that I won on their giveaway contest. And also thank you ate Anne for the "pasabuy" on your Aunt,  for me to be able to use the amazon gift card.

My 2nd book, actually I bought it because Lang Leav  (I've been a fan of her since 2013 I think but sorry if it's the first book of Lang that I have) will have a fan signing event at SM Megamall but unfortunately I wasn't able to go there and that makes me sad. I really hope that one day I will be able to attend her fan signing event here in the Philippines. I already finished reading this book and all I can say is that Lang was the best! I love her work and also adore her so much! I'm sorry because I don't know how to write a review about books and I'm just sharing my stories about the books that I have through this write-up.

I've seen this book to one of the vlogger that I've watched on Youtube and actually the title of the book catches my attention and upon searching some bookstore here in the Philippines unfortunately it's not available. That's so sad but luckily my cousin went out of the country and I asked him if he can find me one of this. And there it goes, *charaaaannnn*!! Thank you couz! I've already finished reading half of the book but I hope I can finish reading it soon.

As of now, this was the last book that I have, thanks to my friend who gave me this book! I haven't started reading this yet but I will surely read this after I finished the other book (Why Men Love Bitches).

PS: I think this was a non-sense blog but whatever! Hahaha!

Taste of Meat at Seoul Station Korean Barbeque

August 20, 2018 Malolos, Bulacan, Philippines

When craving for korean barbeque is more important than your make-up. Just kidding!

I just want to put up this blog since the restaurant has it all, just like their  kind staffs and good foods also.
Disclaimer, I really don't eat spicy foods but I do like to be in korean restaurant since I'm a biggest fan of korean idols.

This restaurant was located at 2nd Floor Main Building, Eco Commercial Building Malolos, Bulacan (infront of BulSU & Graceland).

And here's the price list of their menu:

You can also check their Facebook page: Seoul Station Korean Barbeque

We ordered for meat all you can (pork/chicken/beef), and here are the photos of their side dishes:

For every meat all you can, you can get free bingsu and free drinks.

The taste of their meat was surreal. But there's one thing I'm looking for, they don't have different sauce that are not spicy. As far as I know, they only have just 1 sauce and some kimchi paste and does not suit for some meat that are not marinated. All in all the price is okay for the meat all you can menu.

But we do sure that we will come back here again to taste the other menu that they have.

And the limit of 2 hours stay is wow just wow because some of the other restaurant that I know is 1 hour of stay only.

How to survive buying in online shop without having credit card?

April 12, 2018

As to what I've experienced, it's too hard not to have your own credit card but it's not necessary to have one, right?

PEOPLE BELIEVE THINGS
Credit card makes life easier to many people out there just because it can help them when they run out of cash but NO NO NO, not for me. I'm not even planning to get my own card just for the reason that I need to buy stuff from the online shops.
Obligations at home are more important than to have my own credit card just for now.
I came up to this topic just in case some of you out there doesn't heard the thing called "reloadable prepaid card" in which you can use them for buying online.

WHAT IS PREPAID CARD?
"Prepaid cards look like credit cards and spend like credit cards but there's no credit behind them. They are technically debit cards– when you use them, you're spending your own money, not the bank's. Unlike traditional debit cards, however, you don't need a bank account to use a prepaid card."

You don’t pay interest on a prepaid card as you do with a credit card. That's why I love using reloadable prepaid card.

Here we go, I am going to introduce you to the prepaid cards that I'm currently using.

1. PAYMAYA
I heard it from my office mates (as to what I remembered) about this card. You just need a mobile phone for registration and voila, you will have your own account number already. I registered for this last 2016 but still I don't avail their physical card. I'm just using my phone for any transaction that I'll do with this card.
I remember using it in BTS Wings Tour concert last 2017 because I bought it online. I don't remember having flaws with any of my transactions while using this card.
I'm so used in just loading the card in the nearest 7-eleven store with a minimum load of 100.00 per transaction.
And I like it because it is VISA accredited, you can use it anywhere as long as the store accepts VISA card as payment.

What is PAYMAYA?
"PayMaya Philippines, Inc. (formerly Smart eMoney, Inc.) is the pioneer in mobile money and payments, having established brands such as PayMaya, the first prepaid online payment app that enables the financially underserved to pay online without a credit card; PayMaya Business, the company’s system solutions provider that allows businesses to receive online and card payments anytime, anywhere; Smart Money, the world’s first e-wallet linked to a mobile phone; and Smart Padala, the leading remittance network in the Philippines with over 15,000 agents across the country. PayMaya Philippines is a subsidiary of Voyager Innovations, the digital innovations company of PLDT and Smart."

How to load up Paymaya?
Here are the loading partners of Paymaya:

And to the last one prepaid card the I'm using right now is the,

2. BPI AMORE VISA PREPAID CARD
I also heard it from my office mates. And I thought that it was good since you can load it via BPI transfer with no hassle at all, so I give it a go. I registered for this last 2017. I always use this when I buy my stuff online even on Korean online shop sites or even on Amazon.

These are the things you need to know about the prepaid card:

- How to get a card
- How to activate
- How to load your Amore card

What is BPI AMORE VISA PREPAID CARD?
"Amore Visa Prepaid Cards are reloadable Visa prepaid cards that can be used to pay for online purchases as well as purchases from shops and restaurants worldwide.
Tap and go at Visa payWave merchants, or if you have an Amore Visa Prepaid beep™ tap at MRT, LRT and BGC buses.

Purchases using your Amore Visa Prepaid does not require any PIN. When paying inside stores or restaurants, just present your card and sign the sales slip."
- Source: (BPI Amore Visa Prepaid Card)

As of now, I'm using BPI Amore Visa Prepaid Card in all of my transactions online that needs credit card. It is reliable and yet you can get it easily in any Ayala Malls nationwide. Since I can load it up by using BPI transfer rather than PAYMAYA, I need to go to their partner loading stations to load up my card. That's the reason why I switched to BPI Amore Visa.

Here are the list of the online sites that I've made transaction with AMORE VISA (★) and PAYMAYA (☆):
 Althea Korea
 Gmarket Global
 SM Tickets
 Amazon
 Interpark Global
 BTS Official Shop
 Smart Postpaid Plan

I hope this blog can help you in case you really need something to buy online even if you don't own any credit cards at all.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to leave a comment down below.
